November 17, 2025 - Westley has always been a sensitive boy when a lot is going on around him so I was worried about entering him in this weekend’s rally trial as it is a very busy environment with an obedience trial going on at the same time just a few feet away from the rally ring. And when Alice came into heat, I thought Westley would not be able to function at this trial at all.
But, as he often does, my boy surprised me by pulling off three Q’s in a row to earn his Rally Novice title with scores of 91, 91, and 87 and also won a High in Class!

November 16, 2025 - Pekoe ventured out with her mom to a CWAGS scent detection trial this morning and came back with her Scent Patrol title, the Studious Slowpoke award, and a judge’s choice!

November 9, 2025 - Westley had his first Advanced runs today and he did well! He managed to get his last Starter Jumpers Q to move him into Advanced and then got a Q in Advanced Standard and Advanced Jumpers! Thank you Capital Comets for a well-run trial! This will be our last agility trial for the year.
November 2, 2025 - Carmela and Dan Flashes competed in the Celtic Paw Canadian Detection Sport Association trial today!
Carmela competed in DS3 and unfortunately didn’t pass her second Interior search so didn’t earn her title but she passed all other components and got 1st place in Containers with a 15 second run! It was a fun challenge doing the unknown number of hides.
Daniel competed in DS2 and unfortunately false alerted in his Interior search but passed his other two components with a 1st place in Containers with a 13 second run!
October 25, 2025 - The boys attended the Campbell River Dog Fanciers CKC scent detection trial today!
Westley competed in Novice and had some struggles with the distracting environment (especially with his favourite auntie there taking photos!) but he managed to find the hides in Interior and Exterior. Hopefully we will get Containers next time!
Dan Flashes competed in Open and found both hides in each component to earn his Open title! He also placed 3rd in both Containers and Exterior! Proud of our boys!

October 19, 2025 - It was a wet and cold day at the sprinter trial this weekend but the poodle crew did not disappoint! Our pups Pekoe and Sparks made their sprinter debut and while they only did one run each they ran at 31km/hr and 37km/hr! Alice and Westley were entered in four runs and Westley earned enough points to reach his Sprinter title (500 points)! Alice, fresh off her Novice Sprinter title from her last trial, is very close to her Sprinter title now! Westley’s top speed was 37km/hr and Alice’s was 41km/hr! Photo by Ayri K. Photography
October 13, 2025 - It was miserable weather at the CDSA scent detection trial but the girls persevered! Alice qualified in all three components to earn her DS1-Jr title with a third place in containers! Pekoe didn’t quite make it this time but did manage to be successful in her Interior search!
Both girls qualified for their CDSA-DSV1 versatility titles with previously earned titles by earning scent detection titles in three different organizations!

The next day Daniel got to play in DS2! He found both hides in each element to earn his DS2-Jr title, picked up 3rd place in each, and 1st place overall! Super proud of my boy!

October 4, 2025 - Our Dan Flashes x Pippa litter are 5.5 weeks old! They had their first full bath and groom and photoshoot today! All are reserved to our waiting list.
September 28, 2025 - What a great weekend for Alice and Pekoe! On Friday Alice attended the West Coast Ratters barn hunt trial and picked up her Instinct title and two Q’s towards her Novice, one of which was a High in Class!
Saturday both of the girls went to the Nosework Nerds CWAGS scent detection trial and earned their Scent Ranger 1 title!
Sunday was back at barn hunt but this time both girls were competing. Pekoe got her Instinct title and Alice earned her last Q to attain her Novice title with another High in Class! Our puppy Sparks was also in attendance and while he didn’t earn any Q’s he was SUPER close a few times and hunted well under pressure!

September 13, 2025 - It had been one of my goals for next year to work towards a CGN (Canine Good Neighbour) title with my dogs and when a test popped up just minutes from my house I decided to throw Westley in with no formal prep! At worst I thought I would know what I needed to work on. But he passed everything like a superstar! The Canine Good Neighbour test is sanctioned by the CKC and tests a dog’s ability to be calm and under control in public. Tests include being touched by a stranger, walking through a crowd, some basic obedience commands, and passing a strange dog. Proud of my little man! Thanks Best Paw Forward Dog Training for letting us join!

September 6, 2025 - Our second AAC agility trial went well! Westley ran clean in all four of his runs (but was over time for one), picking up his Agility Dog of Canada title and two Q’s in gamble! Thank you Nanaimo Kennel Club for a great trial!

September 6, 2025 - The girls had a great time at the Cowichan Valley K9 Nosework trial today! Alice had her second attempt at Started and completed all three components to earn her Started Special title! She also got 3rd place in containers.
Carmela competed in Advanced and completed all three components with perfect scores and two 1sts and a 2nd! She also did Excellent Interior and achieved a perfect score. Carmela is working on her Master Champion and is now 8/10 titles there!

September 5, 2025 - Westley attended a CKC agility trial today! He struggled a bit with the distracting environment and the heat but managed to pull off two qualifying runs in Standard!

August 31, 2025 - Proud is an understatement! Westley has been a bit of a late bloomer as far as training goes so I wasn’t sure about doing agility with him. This weekend was his very first agility trial and I wasn’t sure if he was ready but figured it would give me an idea of what we needed to work on and getting him into the ring would help with his confidence.
This little man blew my expectations out of the water! He ran clean in 3/4 of his standard runs (though one was over time so he only got 2 Q’s), managed a Q in snooker, and successfully completed one gamble run but was over time (by 0.33 seconds!) so no Q.
We definitely have lots to work on but I’m so glad to have this sweet boy with me on his agility journey
August 26, 2025 - Pippa and Daniel’s puppies made their way into the world early this morning! There are four girls and one boy. All are reserved to our waiting list. Mom and puppies are doing well.
July 20, 2025 - Alice traveled to the mainland to compete in the Western Gazehound Club's CKC Sprinter trial! She was so excited to chase that bag! She earned enough points for her Novice Sprinter title, plus a little extra!

July 13, 2025 - Our Celtic Paw scent trial weekend recap! Saturday Dan Flashes competed in Advanced and pulled off qualifying scores in Containers and Interiors with a 1st place in Interior! This earned him his second Advances title.
Carmela got to try Elite and she got Containers and Exterior but unfortunately did not get her Interior.
Our pups Tazanna and Beast also did well! Tazanna got qualifying scores in Interior with 1st place and Exterior with 2nd place! Beast got a qualifying score and a 1st place in Interior!
Sunday was Started in which Alice and Pekoe competed for the first time! Pekoe was a rock star and aced all of her components to earn her Started Special title! Alice was amazing as well but didn’t quite get her Interior as she was a little too far off the source. But she got her Exterior and her Containers with a 3rd place!
Carmela was only in Excellent Interior to finish up her last Excellent title and she rocked it!
Dan Flashes got to try the other two Excellent components and while he wasn’t successful he did some really good searching and worked well despite the heat and distractions.

June 28, 2025 - The girls had a great day at the Tyee Kennel Club scent detection trial today! We entered both Alice and Pekoe in Novice even though we thought they might not quite be ready but they blew us away and passed all three components to earn their Scent Detection Novice title!
Pippa was entered in Open but due to her being in heat she wasn’t on her game and only passed Containers and Exterior. Next time!
May 18, 2025 - So incredibly proud of this girl After not getting into this scent trial, we were lucky enough to get in off the wait list only a couple of days before the trial. I had already signed up for an agility trial that day but realized that if Pippa got all three of her Excellent components she would get her Champion, not thinking that she could pull it off.
Well she did! Her searches were amazing. She worked so well even with high hides and converging odour and through food distractors. She was one of only two dogs to pass Interior and the only dog to pass all three components in Excellent! She also picked up a first place in Interior, a second place in Exterior, a third place in Containers, and achieved High In Trial! This being only her third Excellent trial, and only her second time doing Interior, I couldn’t believe it. So proud!!

April 26, 2025 - Dan Flashes got his Novice Sprinter title today at the Vancouver Island Lure Coursing Association’s sprinter trial! His top speed was 36km/hr!
Pippa and Westley also attended and were racking up points towards their Sprinter title. Westley is very close!
April 19, 2025 - Pippa competed in the K911 scent detection trial today and got a qualifying score in Interiors which was the last component she needed for her Excellent title! So proud of her for getting her Excellent Interior on the first try! She also managed to place 1st in the amateur stream.
Containers and Exterior were another story...but she had fun!

The following day Carmela picked up a Q in both Containers and Exterior though a tricky Interior eluded her!
March 1, 2025 - Pippa and Daniel attended a Canadian Detection Sport Association scentwork trial today! Daniel earned his DS1-Jr title which also got him his detection sport versatility level one title and Pippa earned her DS2-Jr title!
February 26, 2025 - Westley earned his CKC Versatility Novice title! This is earned by having titles in three different sports recognized by the CKC. Way to go, Westley!
February 23, 2025 - Westley and Dan Flashes competed in the Nosework Nerds CWAGS scent detection trial today! Westley got 4/4 runs in Level 1 and earned his Scent Patrol title! Dan Flashes got 4/4 runs in Level 2 and earned his Scent Detective title! Pippa also attended as Dog in White (tester dog) for Level 3! All of the dogs searched beautifully and we are so proud!
February 9, 2025 - Another day of successes at day two of the Celtic Paw scent detection trial! Pippa competed in Games in the morning and took home a Q in aerial and a Q and a third place in distance!
Dan Flashes was on fire today and managed to Q in all three Advanced components to earn him his Advanced Special title! He also placed first in Exterior and second in Containers!
We also had two of our past puppies competing at the trial! Tazanna got 2/3 components for her Started title and placed third in Interior as well as getting a Q in games for aerial! Beast picked up Q’s in distance and aerial and in all three Advanced components as well for her Advanced Special title! She also got third place in Containers and second place in Exterior!
February 8, 2025 - The girls had a great day at the Celtic Paw scent detection trial today!
Carmela tried Elite, the highest level in SDDA, for the first time! Elite has the most difficult challenges and you have to pass all three elements (containers, interior, and exterior) in one trial. The amount of hides are also unknown, so you really have to trust your dog! She made me so proud by succeeding in her Exterior (even in the snow!) as well as her Interior which included a room with no hides. She false alerted in Containers but I had made the decision to trust her even if she was wrong so I’m proud that I trusted her. We didn’t get any placements but she got Judge’s Choice and got to take one of the containers home (aptly labeled Trust Your Dog)! She also got some yummy chicken necks from Peanutbutter Kisses!
Pippa got to try Excellent for the first time and she was amazing! She worked through the snow to get her Exterior and she found all three hides fairly easily in Containers (we didn’t do Interior this time).
Pekoe also got to come along and she was a superstar in the busy trial environment and was a perfect girl in her kennel while the other girls ran.
January 24, 2025 - Westley and Pippa got mail! A couple months ago we applied for their versatility titles from Versatility in Poodles and they received their certificates today! Westley achieved his Versatility Certificate and Pippa received her Versatility Certificate Excellent!
Versatility in Poodles awards recognition to poodles achieving titles from different disciplines and also takes into account their health testing. We are proud to have such versatile poodles!
November 24, 2024 - Carmela finished her second Excellent SDDA scent detection title under judge Richard Hatchman today which also earned her her Scent Detection Champion title! She also got 1st place in Interior, 1st place overall, and High in Trial!
Pippa and Daniel also competed in Advanced! Pippa got Q’s in Containers and Exterior and earned 3rd place in both! Daniel got a Q in Exterior.

September 10, 2024 - Welcome Paparazzi’s Watch Me Shimmer “Alice”! Alice is a black parti large miniature from Paparazzi Poodles! She is a friendly, active girl with great drive!
September 7, 2024 - Dan Flashes competed in his first scent detection trial today! He was successful in all three components and earned his Started Special title as well as a 1st place in Interior!
August 25, 2024 - Pippa and Westley's litter have arrived! There are 3 males and 2 females. All will be reserved to our waiting list.
July 13, 2024 - The girls did amazing today at the Celtic Paw scent detection trial! Carmela finally achieved her Excellent title (with a Special distinction) and took 2nd place in Interior (something we have struggled with) and 2nd place overall! Pippa managed to qualify in all three of her Advanced runs, earning her her Advanced Special title, and placed 1st in all three components, 1st overall, and got High in Trial for amateur stream! She has always struggled with exteriors and generally with being slow in her searches so we were especially proud! The following day Pippa also managed to get Q's and two 1st places in Exterior and Interior!
June 9, 2024 - A fun weekend at the West Coast Ratters barn hunt trial! Westley got his Novice title, Pippa got her Open title, and Dan Flashes got 2/3 Q’s towards his Open title as well as a High in Class score!
June 3, 2024 - It was a crazy wet weekend in Salmon Arm for the AAC BC / Yukon agility regionals! Carmela worked so hard and qualified for nationals and placed 11th out of 23 dogs in a very competitive 12” category! We are so proud!
May 12, 2024 - Carmela achieved her Master Snooker title and Agility Trial Champion of Canada title today! So proud of this little dog for achieving so much and working so hard for me.
May 5, 2024 - Pippa and Westley, along with our past pup, Tazanna and our honorary poodle club member, Buck, competed in the Nosework Nerds CWAGS scent detection trial today! This was Westley and Tazanna’s first scent detection trial and they both did well! Tazanna got her level 1 title and Westley got 3/4 Q’s towards his level 1! He had to work through some scary noises in the one run he missed but he came through and was more successful in the two after. Pippa got to try level 2 and while she was her usual slow self she pulled it off and achieved her level 2 title! Buck competed in both level 1 and 2 and got every run!
May 4, 2024 - Perdita and Henry’s puppies are 5 weeks old! They are starting to show their individual personalities and explore the world! All are reserved to our waiting list.
April 20, 2024 - Pippa and Westley attended the VILCA-CAP CKC sprinter trial this weekend! Both dogs ran their little hearts out with a top speed of 40km/hr and 36km/hr and both achieved their Novice Sprinter titles!
March 31, 2024 - Pippa completed all three of her components today (including our elusive Exterior!) at the Campbell River Dog Fanciers CKC scentwork trial to earn her Novice title!
March 26, 2024 - Henry and Perdita’s puppies have arrived! There are three girls and three boys. All will be brown or cafe au lait solids. All will be reserved to our waiting list.
March 24, 2024 - A weekend full of wins, both physical and mental, at the West Coast Ratters barn hunt trial! Our plan was to go in with zero expectations as this was both Daniel and Westley’s first trial of any kind and we wanted the experience to be positive more than anything.
Both boys surprised me by not only working through pouring rain, barking dogs, strangers, and waiting their turn, but Westley managed to get his Instinct title and two Novice Q’s and Daniel got both his Instinct and his Novice title including a High in Class score!
The second day we brought Carmela and Pippa as well, both of which had not done barn hunt in a long time. Pippa alerted on litter twice so did not get any Q’s but she had a wonderful time.
Carmela managed to navigate a challenging course and found 4 rats to get her Masters title!
We are so proud of all of our dogs for making it through the weekend and we hope they will only improve from here!
March 22, 2024 - We are lucky that we currently have more wonderful homes waiting than puppies we plan on producing! This unfortunately means we have to close our waiting list to new applications. If you currently have an application in, you will still be considered for future litters. We will make another announcement once our waiting list opens again.
March 17, 2024 - The girls attended a CDSA scent detection trial! Pippa got all three of her components to earn her DS1-Sr title and Carmela got all three of her components to earn her DS2-Jr title plus she got 3rd place overall and Judge's Choice!

February 3, 2024 - Pippa's puppies are two and a half weeks old! They all have their eyes open and are starting to walk and play. They will be moved into the larger pen early this week!
January 24, 2024 - It's Henry's 3rd birthday today! We also got Perdita and Westley's eye and PennHip certifications completed today and they both passed with flying colors! Perdita also came into heat and was bred to Henry! If she takes, she will be due March 23rd. Puppies will be reserved to our waiting list.
January 19, 2024 - Westley turns 1 year old today! Westley has grown into a smart and sweet little man, such a funny character and such a charmer! Cake and cookies from Peanut Butter Kisses.
January 16, 2024 - Pippa's puppies have arrived! There are 4 boys and 1 girl. They will be reserved to our waiting list. Mom and babies are doing well so far.
January 8, 2024 - Pippa's x-rays are in! Looks like she is having five puppies! It also looks like Perdita might be just starting her heat! If so, she will be bred to Henry pending her hip test results.
December 11, 2023 - We are excited to confirm Pippa's pregnancy with Dash! Puppies will be due January 19th. The waiting list for this litter is full. We are expecting black, blue, and apricot in solid and parti.
November 12, 2023 - Pippa got to try Advanced level nosework for the first time! She got Q's and a 3rd place in Containers and Interior but struggled with the distracting environment of the Exterior search. She also has come into heat! We are attempting a breeding with an outside stud.
November 4, 2023 - Henry and Pippa went to the Campbell River Dog Fanciers CKC Scent Detection trial today! Both earned their CKC Scent Detection Instinct title and Henry earned his CKC Scent Detection Novice title! Pippa got her Novice containers and interior and only missed her exterior. Thank you to our scent detection teacher, Lisa Affi of Celtic Paws, for handling Pippa for me today!

October 7, 2023 - Pippa got her DS1-Jr scentwork title today at the Canadian Detection Sport Association trial hosted by Celtic Paw!
October 1, 2023 - Henry and Pippa both got qualifying scores at their first rally obedience sanctioned match with the Nanaimo Kennel Club today! It was a great experience for us as we are still very new to the sport. We are in training for the next trial in November!
September 10, 2023 - Henry had a great weekend at the Nanaimo Kennel Club CKC agility trial! It was fun learning the rules to a different agility organization (we normally compete in AAC). Henry got 2 Q’s in Jumpers with Weaves and 3 Q’s in Novice Standard which earned him his Agility Novice title!
September 3, 2023 - Perdita’s puppies are now 3 weeks old! They are beginning to walk and play and eat solid foods. I will be shaving their faces soon so we can see if any of them are going to be lighter colors underneath! Some are looking lighter around the nose already.
August 29, 2023 - Introducing Dan Flashes! (Mostly Mischief’s My Exact Style) “Daniel” is a big brindle boy who we are raising up as a potential stud. He will be trained and evaluated over the next several months to see if his conformation, personality, and trainability are suitable for him to join our program!

If he does not meet our criteria he will be looking for a place to call home as a “starter puppy” with lots of training behind him! He has a lovely personality and we are really hoping he works out but if not he will make a wonderful companion or sport dog for a lucky home!
August 21, 2023 - Individual photos of Perdita's puppies! The black one has a chance to be blue or silver and the brown ones could be cafe au lait or silver beige! Excited to see these puppies grow and develop.

July 28, 2023 - Perdita's pregnancy has been confirmed! She is due August 15-18th and expecting black, blue, silver, brown, cafe au lait, or silver beige solids. Puppies will be reserved to our waiting list but we do have a male or a female still available from Carmela's litter ready to go Sept 5th.

June 18, 2023 - Pippa was lucky enough to be used in a grooming event at the West Coast Groom Fest this past weekend and was groomed in the poodle contest by the amazingly talented Alex Calenda! She looks so stunning and was such a good girl for the entire weekend.

May 21, 2023 - Pippa attended her first SDDA Scent Detection trial today and got qualifying scores in containers, interior, and exterior earning her her Started Special title! She also placed 1st in exterior and 2nd in containers! She still has a lot to learn but we are proud of how well she did today!
May 12, 2023 - Congratulations to Tazanna and her mom Jeannine for achieving their Novice barn hunt title! Tazanna is becoming quite the little sport dog! She is out of Henry and Petra.
